Cash In and Cash Out at an EriPay Agent

Not every payment can be digital yet. Some sellers only take cash, some customers keep savings in notes, and some days you simply need money in your hand. EriPay agents are local shops, kiosks and phone stalls that let you move between cash and your EriPay wallet, even if you live far from a bank. This guide explains how cash-in and cash-out work, what it costs, and how to stay safe at the counter.

What an EriPay agent can do for you

  • Cash-in: take your cash and credit your EriPay wallet.
  • Cash-out: receive digital money from you and hand you cash.
  • Open an account: register you on EriPay at the counter.
  • Show you around: many agents help first-time users with their first deposit and transfer.

Cash in (deposit cash)

You can do this in two ways.

With a QR scan

  1. Scan the agent's counter QR code with EriPay and enter the amount you want to deposit.
  2. The request appears in the agent's portal with your name.
  3. Hand over the cash. The agent counts it and confirms.
  4. Your wallet is credited instantly and you get a notification.

With your details

  1. Give the agent your phone number, email or Wallet ID.
  2. The agent checks your name on their screen and reads it back to you.
  3. Hand over the cash; the agent enters the amount.
  4. Wait for your notification before leaving.

Cash-in is free for the customer.

Cash out (withdraw cash)

  1. Tell the agent how much you need.
  2. Scan the agent's cash-out QR code, enter the amount and confirm with your Wallet PIN on your own phone.
  3. The agent sees the payment arrive, then gives you the cash.
  4. Count the notes before you leave.

Cash-out has a fee that follows a published tariff by amount band. It's shown on your screen before you confirm.

Why QR is safer

With the QR flow, you never tell anyone your PIN and nobody types your number for you. Scanning picks the right account every time, and you confirm on your own phone. That is why EriPay built cash-in and cash-out around QR codes.

Opening an account at an agent

New to EriPay? An agent can register you in a few minutes. Bring your phone and, if you like, your ID. The agent enters your details, EriPay emails you a 6-digit code that you read out to confirm the email is yours, and you then receive a link to choose your own password. You set your Wallet PIN yourself, on your own phone. The agent never knows either.

Safety tips at the counter

  • Never tell anyone your PIN or password, including the agent. A genuine agent will never ask.
  • Check the amount on your own screen before you confirm.
  • Count cash in front of the agent.
  • Wait for the notification after a cash-in before leaving.
  • Report problems, such as an agent asking for an extra fee, to info@eripays.com.

When agents are most useful

  • Traders depositing the day's cash takings instead of carrying them home.
  • Farmers turning harvest payments into savings.
  • Family members who receive support digitally but buy in cash markets.
  • People in areas where mobile money balances often run out.
