How to Create Your EriPay Account: A Step-by-Step Guide
Never used a digital wallet before? No problem. This guide takes you from zero to your first payment in about ten minutes, explains why each step matters, and shows how to fix the most common problems people meet along the way.
Before you start
- A smartphone or computer with internet. EriPay works in Chrome, Safari, Edge and most modern browsers.
- A phone number you use, and an email address you can open right now.
- Your National ID or passport nearby, for verification later.
Step 1: Register
Open eripays.com/user/register. Fill in:
- First and last name, exactly as on your ID.
- Username: something simple you will remember. You can sign in with it or your email.
- Email address: check the spelling, because password resets go here.
- Phone number: for example 0772 123456. Uganda (+256) is already selected.
- Password: at least 8 characters, including a letter and a number. Longer is safer: a short phrase like "Mango-Lira-2026" is easy to remember and hard to guess.
Accept the terms and tap Create Account. Your wallet opens immediately and your welcome bonus lands in your balance.
Step 2: Set your Wallet PIN
Your dashboard asks you to create a 6-digit Wallet PIN. You enter it every time you send, pay or withdraw, so it is the real key to your money. Choose digits that are not your birthday, year of birth, phone number or a pattern such as 123456. Never share it with anyone, including people who say they work for EriPay or agents at a counter.
Step 3: Turn on two-factor sign-in
Go to Settings → Security and enable two-factor authentication. Scan the QR code with Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator and type the 6-digit code to confirm. From then on, signing in needs your password and a fresh code from your phone.
Step 4: Verify your identity
Go to Settings → ID Verification and upload clear photos of your National ID or passport. Take the photo in good light, show all four corners, and avoid glare. Verification protects you from people opening accounts in your name, and it unlocks higher limits.
Step 5: Add money
Tap Deposit, choose your UGX wallet and Mobile Money (UGX), enter the amount and your MTN or Airtel number, and approve the prompt on your phone with your mobile money PIN. The wallet is credited as soon as the network confirms. You can also deposit by bank transfer or give cash to an EriPay agent.
Step 6: Make your first transfer
Tap Send, enter a friend's phone number, email or Wallet ID, check the name that appears, type the amount and confirm with your PIN. Transfers up to UGX 20,000 are free.
Step 7: Install the app
On Android, open the Chrome menu and choose Install app. On iPhone, open eripays.com in Safari, tap Share and then Add to Home Screen. EriPay now opens from its own icon.

Add a number or your town, for example "henry.lira".
My password is rejected
Check the checklist under the field: it needs 8 characters, a letter and a number.
I didn't receive an email
Check your spam or promotions folder, and make sure the address was typed correctly.
The mobile money prompt didn't appear
Make sure the phone with that SIM is on and has network, then try again after a minute. Don't approve two prompts for one deposit.

Prefer help in person?
Any EriPay agent can register your account at the counter. You confirm with a code sent to your email and choose your own password; the agent never sees it.
