How to Withdraw From EriPay to Mobile Money or Your Bank

Your money is yours to move whenever you want. EriPay offers several ways to withdraw, so you can choose what is fastest, cheapest or most convenient on the day. This guide explains each option, how fees work, how long each takes, and how to keep withdrawals safe.

Option 1: Withdraw to mobile money

The fastest way to get money to your MTN or Airtel line.

  1. Tap Withdraw and choose your UGX wallet.
  2. Select Mobile Money (UGX) and choose or enter your number.
  3. Enter the amount. The screen shows the fee and exactly how much will arrive.
  4. Confirm with your Wallet PIN.

Most mobile money withdrawals arrive within minutes. You receive a notification from EriPay and an SMS from your network.

Option 2: Withdraw to your bank

Best for larger amounts, rent, school fees paid by bank, or business accounts.

  1. Add your bank account once under Payment Accounts: bank name, account name and number.
  2. Tap Withdraw, choose Bank Transfer and pick the saved account.
  3. Enter the amount, check the fee and confirm with your PIN.

Bank withdrawals are processed by our team and take longer than mobile money, depending on bank processing times.

Option 3: Cash out at an EriPay agent

When you need notes in your hand.

  1. Visit an EriPay agent and tell them the amount.
  2. Scan the agent's cash-out QR code with EriPay, enter the amount and confirm with your PIN on your own phone.
  3. The agent sees the payment arrive and hands you the cash. Count it before you leave.

The agent cash-out fee follows a published tariff by amount band, shown before you confirm.

Understanding withdrawal fees

When you withdraw to mobile money or a bank, the network or bank charges EriPay for the payout. Your fee covers that outside cost plus a small service margin. It is always displayed, together with the amount you will receive, before you enter your PIN.

Ways to pay less

  • Withdraw less often. One larger withdrawal usually costs less than several small ones.
  • Pay directly from EriPay. Bills, transfers to family and payments to EriPay merchants don't need a withdrawal at all.
  • Compare options. For some amounts mobile money is cheaper; for others, an agent or bank. The confirmation screen tells you before you commit.

Save your payment accounts

Add your mobile money numbers and bank accounts under Payment Accounts. Future withdrawals then take a few taps, and you avoid typing mistakes.

Limits

Withdrawals are subject to daily and monthly limits that depend on your plan and verification level. Verifying your identity raises them.

If a withdrawal is delayed

Check the status in your transaction history. "Pending" means the payout is being processed. If a mobile money withdrawal has not arrived after an hour, open a support ticket with the transaction ID. If a payout fails, the amount is returned to your wallet.

Stay safe

  • Withdraw only to accounts in your own name.
  • Be cautious if someone asks you to withdraw money on their behalf; it may be fraud or money laundering.
  • Never share your Wallet PIN, including with agents.
